First appointment costs

A first appointment at the Studentist dental practice involves an intake examination. The minimum cost for this is 46.91 euros. Sometimes, X-rays are required. The dentist will determine if X-rays are necessary during the first visit, depending on whether you have requested X-rays from your previous dentist, the age of the previous X-rays, and whether or not you still have wisdom teeth. The cost of X-rays varies between 34 euros and 108 euros.

We can always inform you about the costs in advance, please call the practice or email your question to one of the following email addresses:

  • utrecht@studentist.nl
  • amsterdam@studentist.nl
  • groningen@studentist.nl
  • roeterseiland@studentist.nl

Cancel or change appointment

An appointment at Studentist must be cancelled or rescheduled at least 48 hours in advance. If you notify us less than 48 hours in advance, we will be obliged to charge you for the scheduled time and/or treatment. These costs are charged because, as a patient, you have reserved a portion of the practice’s operations which now remains unused, yet still incurs ongoing costs.
Appointments on Monday can be cancelled free of charge until the time of the appointment on the preceding Thursday. Appointments on the day after a public holiday can be cancelled free of charge until the time of the appointment on the preceding working day. Unfortunately, the invoice for a missed appointment will not be reimbursed by the health insurer and will be at your own expense.

You can cancel or reschedule an appointment at your Studentist branch by contacting the practice. Either by phone or email.

What happens if I am late for an appointment?

Arriving late for an appointment runs the risk that the treatment cannot be completed entirely according to plan or may even need to be cancelled due to insufficient time for a proper treatment. The time reserved for you may be charged. These costs are not reimbursed by the health insurance.

Repeatedly missing an appointment

If appointments are repeatedly missed or cancelled too late, we reserve the right to deregister you as a patient of our practice.

Payment options

When the patient is additionally insured, Studentist sends the invoice directly to the health insurance. The health insurer assesses the invoice. In some cases, it is reimbursed 100%, in other cases partially. The remaining invoice is sent to the patient by email through the billing company. In this case, there is no need to pay directly at the counter. Also, the ‘remaining invoices’ received at home do not need to be resubmitted to the health insurer; this is always the amount that the patient needs to pay themselves.

How the digital invoice works – InfoMedics (Studentist Amsterdam, Studentist Roeterseiland Campus, and Studentist Utrecht)
InfoMedics offers you, as a patient, as much convenience as possible with payment. You have 30 days to pay the invoice. If you pay via internet banking, make sure to use the payment details on this invoice (note: this is a different account number than you were used to!). You can also scan the QR code on the invoice with your mobile phone. You will then be directed to your iDEAL payment page. All payment details are neatly filled in for you, so you only need to approve the payment.

How the digital invoice works – Anders Medical Factoring (Studentist Groningen)
The link to the invoice is sent by email by MijnAndersnota. The email explains what you need to do, but for completeness, we will also mention it here. When the link is clicked, a screen will appear where the relevant postal code, house number, and date of birth must be entered. Then click on “request code”. An access code will be sent to the known mobile number. This access code must be entered in the final field, granting access to the invoice. It can then be easily paid via iDeal, among other methods. If you do not want us to provide your email address and phone number to Anders Medical Factoring, please let us know. The invoice will then be sent to you by post.

When a patient is not additionally insured, the invoice is paid directly at the counter after the treatment.

Inform us about a change of address

We would like to receive a change of address by email, by telephone or at the counter in the practice itself. If we have an up-to-date email address, the remaining invoices will be delivered to the correct email address.

Disagree with your invoice

You can file an objection with us. The collection procedure for the invoice (or part thereof) is temporarily stopped. Your healthcare provider will respond within 2 weeks. You will be notified whether or not the invoice will be maintained.
